SISC Restaurant Club – Join this out-to-lunch bunch for food, fun and friendship. The next  club meeting will take place at 1 p.m. on May 11, at Blue Star Grille in Morrison Plantation. Participants are responsible for their own meal expenses. RSVP to 704-662-3337.

FREE Help with Your Cell Phone & Computer – Do you need help learning all the features on your I-phone? A group of teens from the South Iredell High School will be coming to the Senior Center on May 3, from 1-3 p.m. to help older individuals learn the features on their electronic devices. Pre-register by calling SISC at 704-662-3337 by  May 1.

ICOA 2017 Caregiver’s Summit - The summit will be held in the Citizens Center upstairs from the South Iredell Senior Center on Wed., May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Topics covered will include: Let’s Talk about Finances, Mom & Dad, Abnormal Aging, and Compassion Fatigue Syndrome. Local Healthcare providers will be available to answer your questions. A light lunch will be provided. Registration is required. To register call 704-662-3337.

FREE Art Showcase - Everyone is invited to enjoy the talent of our seniors in an Art Showcase held on Thurs., May 4 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. displayed in the pre-function area of the Senior Center.  Come see the talent and amazing work by your senior adult peers. Open to the public.

Games Night Potluck - Bring your favorite dinner item to share and join us for a fun filled night of good food, fellowship and fun games on Thurs., May 4 starting at 5:30 p.m.

Massage held at South Iredell Senior Center on Tues., May 9. Senior rate is $20 for a 30 minute session. Call 704-662-3337 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Single Senior’s - Mon., May 15 at noon at SISC. Following the meeting the group will be going out for lunch at CiCi’s Pizza.

Spring Dance - Fri., May 19, from 5:30-8 p.m. Enjoy food, fun, fellowship, and friends as we dance to the tunes. Everyone is invited to the celebration whether you dance or not. Please bring your favorite snack or finger food to share and be sure to bring serving containers and utensils. The dance is open to all senior adults age 60+ and their spouse or caregiver.

FREE Cholesterol Screening – Provided by Lake Norman Regional Medical Center will provide a free total cholesterol (only) check at SISC on Tues., May 23 from 1-2 p.m.  No appointment needed and you do not need to fast for the screening.

Book Discussion Club - Join a group of book lovers for a monthly book discussion on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at South Iredell Senior Center. The next meeting will be held on Tues., May 23. For the month of May the book of choice is any book by Author Janet Evanovich, 17 Stephanie Plum mysteries. The group will be led by Ann Hancock.

Older Americans Month Celebration – On Tues., May 30, the Senior Center will celebrate Older Americans Month with a special luncheon in honor of older adults. If you are a senior age 60+ and have never been to the Senior Center, this is the perfect opportunity to come see all that we have to offer, meet new people and have a good time. The luncheon will be at noon and is being sponsored by Home Carolina?  To attend you must register by Fri., May 19.

Young Hearts Tea Party- Come celebrate with friends on Wed., May 31 at 11 a.m. at SISC.  Please bring finger foods to share with the group. Young Hearts is a Senior Social Club that meets monthly.

Decorating Picture Frames – There will be a craft class to decorate picture frames at SISC on Wednesday, June 7, from 9-11 a.m.  The supplies you will need to bring includes: Any size picture frame of your choice, selection of buttons for yourself and to share, glue gun and glue sticks if possible. For more information, or to register for the class, please call SISC at 704-662-3337 by Mon., June 5.
